Ca2+ Infusion, and Aortic Constriction in Pigs

چکیده
The effects of crand ,-adrenergic stimulation on release of atrial natriuretic factor (ANF) were examined in seven anesthetized, open-chest pigs. The a-adrenergic agonist phenylephrine (28.0 ,ug/min) and the j3-adrenergic agonist isoproterenol (0.3 ,ug/min) were infused into the proximal part of the circumflex coronary artery to stimulate the left atrial adrenoceptors without concomitant changes in left and right atrial filling pressures (v wave). Isoproterenol reduced plasma immunoreactive ANF (irANF) by 15±7 pg/ml (20%) from 76±10 pg/ml despite

TRPV4 channels contribute to renal myogenic autoregulation in neonatal pigs.
Myogenic response, a phenomenon in which resistance size arteries and arterioles swiftly constrict or dilate in response to an acute elevation or reduction, respectively, in intravascular pressure is a key component of renal autoregulation mechanisms. Although it is well established that the renal system is functionally immature in neonates, mechanisms that regulate neonatal renal blood flow (R...
متن کاملRole of oxidative stress in the aortic constriction-induced ventricular hypertrophy in rat
Introduction:Severe abdominal aortic constriction above the renal arteries induces arterial hypertension above the stenotic site that is the cause of cardiac hypertrophy. Previous studies have shown that high blood pressure induces myocardial oxidative stress with conflicting results. In the present study, we assessed the effects of acute hypertension on the myocardial oxidative stress an...
متن کاملIn Vivo Regulation of fi - Adrenergic Receptors on Mononuclear Leukocytes and Heart Assessment of Receptor Compartmentation after Agonist Infusion and Acute Aortic
In animals injected with a bolus of isoproterenol, fi-adrenergic receptors in both mononuclear leukocytes (MNL) and heart were sequestered away from the cell surface, and the time course (0-120 min) and dose-response patterns were similar in the two tissues. In guinea pigs given a constant infusion of isoproterenol, 0.15 mg/(kg * h), down-regulation of total receptor number occurred more quickl...
متن کاملActivation of β3-adrenergic receptor inhibits ventricular arrhythmia in heart failure through calcium handling.
Ventricular arrhythmia in chronic heart failure (CHF) is considered to be associated with stimulation of β-adrenergic receptors (β-ARs). Three classes of β-ARs have been identified; importantly, distinct from β1 and β2 subtypes, β3-AR could inhibit arrhythmia. Intracellular Ca2+ is considered as a predominant effecter of arrhythmia during heart failure. However, the exact role of β3-AR in arrhy...
متن کاملRandomized trial of the effect of magnesium sulfate continuous infusion on IL-6 and CRP serum levels following abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery
Background:Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is widely considered as the disease of elderly white men. Inflammation is one of the most well-known mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of AAA. Magnesium is one of the most important minerals in the body with established anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of Mg loading following AAA surgery on two inflamma...
